Obesity is a problem for majority of world population around the world. Every third person around us wants to lose some weight but not everyone succeeds in it. Reason is simple mostly people tend toward home tips and follow the popular myths around them which claim to help in losing weight. But unfortunately, it can cause more problems than giving any benefits. Here are few myths which are very popular among us that claim to reduce weight; but the reality is not exactly the same.

·         Avoiding carbs helps to lose weight:

It’s a most common myth found around us. Many of you have heard that if we exempt carbs from our diet we will lose weight. It is no right at all. Excessive take of carbs no doubt causes to increase weight, but if we cut it down from our food completely; we will feel more hungry and the need of fibers increase suddenly - and it’s not good at all. There are diet plans which provide a healthy balance between carb in-take, and promote healthy carbs intake like Mediterranean diet.


·       Say No to food to lose:

It is also a common practice. Many people start eating less or avoid meals to lose weight. But this is not good for health too. Researchers say that; the first rule to lose weight is to avoid SKIPPING THE MEALS. It only cause disturbing your health habits, and you might be eating more if you skip lunch or any meal and then eat after long working hours. Don’t eat loaded fries on your snack time rather switch to healthy snacks like fruits or salads; but don’t miss it.


·        Move more and eat less:

Now it is also a myth; moving more is not a solution for all. Few people can lose weight by walking and jogging; but for people who are more obese can’t take benefit from it; instead they might get health issues. They might get more weight due to running or walks just because of biochemical factors.


·         Supplements help in losing weight:

This is just a marketing tact that supplements can help to reduce weights, and researches have proved it wrong several times. The best supplement might help you to lose weight for few pounds in several months.


·         Will power is enough to lose weight:

It is said many times that losing weight is all game of mind. If you determine something stick to your diets and nutrition plans and exercise you can lose weight. But it is not always a truth; many overweight issues are due to some health problems. Like hormones issues in women might be one of the major reasons to gain weight. Depression, hypothyroidism, PCOS and various other medical reasons can cause weight gain. These weight gains do not need mere will power and a balance diet plan; a medical treatment is must along it.


·         Thinner the happier:

Now, this is also something very common myth. People think that only smart and thin people are healthier, whereas, obesity always is a problem. But it is wrong! Many obese people are metabolically healthy and enjoy everything. While on other hand many thin people suffer from diseases and low immune system. It is a matter Fats and where they build up. If it’s near some abdominal area, you might be at greater risk; but in many cases it is not.

* Just remember one thing. Excess of anything is bad for the health. Don’t eat too much and don’t leave eating at all; both are going to damage your health.
